Martin F. Schaffer of Allenton, PA was called by the Supreme Commander to his last duty station Jan. 2, 2002. Martin was a Life Member of USSVI and a Holland Club member. He was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War and retired from the Naval Reserve in 1979 after 35 years service. Martin was founder and current president of the Lehigh Valley Chapter of Submarine Veterans WWII. He will be missed by his shipmates at the Reading Base, USSVI.
