Holland Club Minutes 
18 October 2000

A combination meeting and Holland Club Breakfast was called to order at 0700. Wednesday October 18th 2000 at the Howard Johnson Hotel in Atlantic City New Jersey. 

Twenty-one members logged in and introduced themselves.

The meeting commenced with the annual report being read by Vice Commander Bill Britt. Commander Glenn Hill was unable to attend due to illness.

Chairman Britt reviewed the qualifications for Holland Club membership and the procedure for applying for membership. These instructions will be forwarded to the National Secretary for insertion in the Policy and Procedures Manual. As USSV members become eligible for the Holland Club, they are to apply through their respective Base Leadership. MAL'S will apply directly to the USSV Membership Chairman.

At the present time there are over 700 Holland Club members and a substantial increase is expected in the next two years. Chairman Britt

Indicated he will contact the National Office with a request for more patches.

Chairman Britt indicated he would look into making a Holland Club roster available, although, it is quite lengthy and changes almost daily.

An election for the coming year was conducted and Bill Britt was elected as Holland club Commander. John Dempster of New Jersey 

Was elected as Vice Commander. 

Under good of the order, it was explained a bill in the US Senate has just passed which will restore full Health care to military retirees who are presently on Medicare. 

There was an explanation of the coming Memorial ceremony in Kings Bay in November. All Submarine Veterans are welcome to attend.

Chairman Britt will contact the Editor of the American Submariner with a request for a Holland Club column in the magazine.

There was an extensive discussion that resulted in a mutual agreement

For more productive interaction with our fellow WWII Shipmates and their organization. 

The Continental Breakfast for the attending members was supplied by the New Jersey South Base of USSV.

Souvenir Holland Club cups were graciously supplied by Bill Britt and Glenn Hill.

Meeting adjourned at 0830.
