GREENLING (SSN-614)
Naval Undersea Museum - Keyport, WA
Exhibit - Submarine Technology

Currently complete and open to the public is a simulation of the control room of the nuclear fast attack submarine GREENLING SSN 614 which was decommissioned in 1994. The museum has installed major equipment such as periscopes, ship control panel, and ballast control panel from GREENLING in a simulation of GREENLING's control room.

TAHOMA
A USSVI memorial plaque and stone was installed October 8, 2003 at Tahoma National Cemetery in Maple Valley, WA.

The installation of this stone was a collaborative effort of Seattle, Bremerton, South Sound and Yakima Bases and was led by Seattle Base Ceremonies Chair Don Masoero.

The Memorial Walkway is a winding path down behind the main flag assembly area. There are several memorial plaques that have been donated by various service organizations, including most recently (October 2003) the USSVI memorial plaque (on the stone in the foreground above) dedicated to the 65 submarines and their crews lost since the creation of the US Submarine force.   Large view of the Memorial plaque

From the flag assembly area looking southward, Mt. Rainier is ever present. A magnificent setting for the final resting place of our nation's heroes, our veterans.

Tahoma National Cemetery was established November 11, 1993 and opened for interments on October 1, 1997.
