On November 11, 2003, members of the USSVI USS Holland SS-1/Gold Country Base and the Sacramento Chapter of U.S. Submarine Veterans WWII, participated in the Elk Grove, California, Veterans Day Parade. The Submarine Veterans of both of these Sacramento based Submarine Veterans organizations meet monthly together and also participate in community events and other functions. Our next "combined event" is the annual Pearl Harbor Day Ceremony in Discovery Park, Sacramento. This is a very moving ceremony in remembrance of those Americans who paid the supreme sacrifice during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, on December 7, 1941. G.E. "Gil" Miller |
