Razorback Coming Home To North Little Rock Arkansas

Shipmates it took the collective efforts of many people and nearly two years of time but the dreams of the USS Razorback Base and the City of North Little, Arkansas and prayers of many have been answered.

   It came at the time of the holiday time, Thanksgiving.

This State of Arkansas and Submarine Veterans of the United States and Turkey will always remember Thanksgiving 2003.

Mayor Hay's North Little Rock Arkansas sent out the following e-mail today and here is the good news from the U.S.State Department.

The Department of State has approved the Government of Turkey's request for a one-time exception to the requirement that title transfer must take place in U.S. Customs jurisdiction in order to allow the title of the ex-USS RAZORBACK/MURAT REIS to transfer in Turkey to the ex-USS RAZORBACK/MURAT REIS Association.

We have advised the Government of Turkey of this decision by means of a cable to our Embassy.

The USS Razorback Submarine Base wishes a Happy Thanksgiving and Holiday Season to All.
