Info to answer the question of "how do i access the mailing list for the sending of BROADCASTS?"

Probably more info than you wanted - but may provide insight into how I do this stuff.

Sid

I import into my NS 3.xx "address book" the contents of the USSVI POC LIST file:///C|/X-USSVI/POCCMBO2.HTM

Here is the online copy http://www.ussvi.org/poccmbo2.htm

Then I click the BCC button in my NS 3.xx mail util and highlight and select the list and place the addresses on the e-mail BCC line and am ready to send.

After the BROADCAST or ZAP-NOTE is sent. I delete the contents of the ADDRESS BOOK so that I don't inadvertently mix obsolete e-mails with the latest POC LIST.

With each mass e-maiingl I repeat the above. Very fast. Very easy.

The 3.xx ADDRESS BOOK is maintained as empty at all times except at the time when I intend to do a mass mailing

All e-mail address lists (both my personal one and USSVI) are retained elsewhere in separate locations on my HD in HTML formatted pages.  Easily accessed with NS 3.xx e-mail

Look at the source code for http://www.ussvi.org/poccmbo2.htm --- it is just a plain HTML page --- NOT a generated address list.

I do all updates manually to the list using TEXTPAD. http://www.textpad.com

The folder highlighted in this example is labeled !brdcast..     This particular folder ( !brdcast. ) is where I temporarily park emails from members for stuff they want included in the next broadcast. After the info has been dealt with (web page updates done and BROADCAST sent) I delete the contents of the folder.

a4.jpg Here is a shot of folders that I created using FILE MANAGER to hold USSVI email correspondence,

For example, this view shows the VETERANS folder. I receive several e-mailed Vet notices from John Dudas (USSVI Vet guy) on a monthly basis. I temporarily park those emails in the folder you see here. Then when I am ready to do an update to http://www.ussvi.org/veterans/top.htm I use NS 3.xx email prog to retrieve the emails and prep the info for placement into the VETERANS section as shown at the link above.

BROADCAST info, POC LIST changes, FINAL PATROL OBIT NOTICES, MEMORIAL SITE info etc etc are done in a similar manner.... Held temporarily in folders i created and then accessed via the 3.xx MAIL UTIL.
