Posting Date: 03 October, 2005 From: John Dudas VA Gives $13.8 Million Grant for Nebraska Veterans Home VA Gives $13.8 Million Grant for Nebraska Veterans Home Veterans in Nebraska will have greater access to long-term health care, thanks to a $13.8 million grant from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to build a state nursing home and domiciliary in Bellevue, which will replace the existing facility in Omaha. The $13.8 million grant will pay up to 65 percent of the cost to construct and equip a 120-bed state veterans home and domiciliary at the Eastern Nebraska Veterans Home in Bellevue. Overall cost of the project is estimated at $21 million. In addition to the Omaha facility, Nebraska already operates veterans homes in Grand Island, Norfolk and Scottsbluff.
