Excerpts from USSVI ByLaws and Policies & Procedures
The Webmaster is an appointed Officer. He reports to the National Commander.
The Webmaster's duties include the following:
  • Maintain the USSVI Home Page and be responsible for its integrity.
  • Maintain the Base POC (Point of Contact) listing and distribute
  • changes to the National Officers.
  • Establish and maintain new Base links to the USSVI Home Page.
  • Maintain a Memorial Page.
  • Maintain a Final Patrol Page in conjunction with the office
  • of the National Chaplain.
  • Maintain a current copy of the Constitution and Bylaws on the Home Page.
  • Maintain a current listing of National Officers, Appointed Officers
  • and Committee Chairman on the Home Page.
  • Perform routine backups and maintenance of backup files of all
  • material on the Home Page.


POC NETWORK

For the purpose of rapid communications, Bases should have one designated member as a POC (Point of Contact). This member must have a computer and an on-line service for receiving all Base messages.

  • When possible, the POC should be the Base Commander and the
  • Internet address must be sent to the Webmaster for publication.
  • Information received on the POC network will be disseminated to all
  • members via a Base newsletter or at Base meetings.
