The base home is in Oxnard. California. Base meeting will be held jointly with U.S. Submarine Veterans of WWII Ventura County Chapter on the 4th Sunday of the month @ 1300 (1PM to some). The meetings are held at Eagles Hall located at 4684 Caviers Rd. Oxnard. CA. I believe we have a first in that one member, Churchill Campbell, was a plank-owner on USS Parche (SS 384) and was awarded two Sliver Stars while serving on this boat during WWII. Two New Central Region Bases formed February 4th, 2006 ================================================================= Submitted by Art Randall ================================================================= Chuck Shepherd, Central Region District One Commander and I are pleased to announce the launching of two new Bases on the same day, that were hundreds of miles apart. So Chuck launched the new "Snook Base" with six members (Troy Meyers Commanding - tlmyers@pgtc.com),in Bentonville Arkansas, joining two other Arkansas Bases, (Twin Lakes Base in Mountain Home and Razorback Base in Little Rock. I launched the USS Columbia Base with 12 members (Joe Ryan Commanding - joeryan@stovermo.com) in Columbia Missouri, joining three other Missouri Bases (Ozark Runner, in Springfield, Topeka Jefferson City in Kansas City, and the USS Springfield Base in St. Louis. These two launches bring the total number of Bases in the Central Region to 42. The remaining officers of both Bases will be announced on a subsequent broadcast message.
