POC BROADCAST Archive Index

Webmaster:
Just a few words to the BASE POCs on
Putting Out The Word
| First off, if you have not done so,
it is suggested that you review the pages linked in the BROADCAST ARCHIVES.
Not only are the links to the archives there but you will find some useful
guides as to the use and purpose of the POC LIST and the BROADCASTS and
just where the POC fits into the overall USSVI "comm network".
This little blurb you are reading is intended as a suggested way for you (the POC) to get the info that is in the BROADCASTs passed along to your members in the easiest and most efficient manner. By using the method shown in the example below you will be free of copying and pasting the entire contents of the BROADCASTS.
It is understood that NOT ALL of the info in each BROADCAST will be of interest to all of your shipmates in your base. But, by passing along the ITEM LISTING (as shown in the example below) they can "click and go" to the relevant linked pages and extract whatever they want/need. Kind of an info shopping cart approach huh?
Very likely your newsletter editor may want to pull something out to include in his next base newsletter or your webmaster may want to update his list of Bases in your base website. In fact, many officers and members may want to know about email changes so they can update their personal contact lists. In short - each member will very likely find something to take away from each BROADCAST that will be of use. So lets try to keep it as simple as possible. Happy clicking Webmaster Sid |
| For example, below is the ITEM listing
from BROADCAST 02-031
You might consider sending the next BROADCAST in a similar layout; using this recommended short version in your e-mail to members or by posting it in your BBS as shown below. Note --- by including the hyperlink at the top of the listing you inform the reader as to WHERE in the USSVI.ORG website he can find the FULL VERSION of the BROADCAST. In-fact, if you don't include the hyperlink as shown, the whole point of passing along the ITEM list is pretty much negated ian't it? So always remember to LINK IT. OK - now here's the suggested pass-along format.... |
